Sorinex Glute Ham Roller

Bert SorinA lot of people have ideas for a new piece of equipment, but most of us don’t have the resources to bring it to life.  I know for me, that’s probably OK because there are already enough bad ideas floating around, but once in a while something comes out that is so simple you think “why didn’t I think of that?”

You may have heard of Sorinex strength equipment.  They’ve been around for years and make some really good equipment.

I had always wondered why their t-shirts and marketing material had a picture of an old-school mustache curled up on the ends.  I mean, it was cute and all, but I didn’t get it….until I met Bert Sorin at a conference recently.

As soon as I saw him, I knew right then and there what the mustache logo was all about – Bert actually has a mustache like that.  It’s awesome!

On top of having an amazing mustache, it turns out that Bert is a really cool guy.  In fact, I think he’d be cool even if he didn’t have the mustache.

When I finally met him, he was messing around with a strange piece of metal with some roller hockey Glue Ham Rollerwheels on it.  He told me that he just made it and it’s called the Glute Ham Roller.  He showed me a couple of ways to use it, and my imagination instantly took off thinking about all the possibilities for this little thing-a-ma-jig.

I started messing around with it, and told Bert I had to have one.  As soon as I got it into Total Performance, the rest of my staff started messing with it and using it during training sessions.

Right away, I knew I had to make a video showing some of the things you can do with it.  I figured that, if I liked it this much, a lot of you would too.  So, check out this 7-minute video showing the Sorinex Glute Ham Roller and a bunch of different exercises you can do with it.  If you really like it – which you will – you can get yourself one at http://store.sorinex.com/Sorinex-Glute-Ham-Roller-p/ghr.htm

Like the piece of equipment, but I do all of these moves on my suspension trainer (TRX). Thoughts?

Scott, you can absolutely do most of these with different equipment. I’m not trying to sell anything. It’s just a really cool piece of equipment, but you can definitely do most of these on a suspension trainer. Good point.
